Deputy Foreign Minister Kolaja at Future Forces Forum 2016

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Václav Kolaja delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of Future Forces Forum 2016 on October 19, 2016.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kolaja in his remarks addressed today's key security challenges, such as protection against weapons of mass destruction, cyber security, modern medical capabilities, logistics and protection of citizens. All these issues are closely related to the Czech Republic's security and defense interests, as they offer response options to a highly dynamic security environment, where traditional threats exist alongside new vulnerabilities.

Deputy Minister Kolaja in this regard also recalled that support for transparent and responsible defense and security industry exports features high among the priorities of Czech economic diplomacy.

Future Forces Forum 2006 was held under the auspices of Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek. The Forum, which was first held in the 1980s in Lisbon and since 2008 has been held permanently in Prague, provides a platform for members of the global defense and security community to network through a series of events, including a congress, conferences, exhibitions and workshops.
