Deputy Minister Tlapa: Czech Republic is Interested in Stronger Cooperation with South Africa

 

On November 15, 2016 in Prague, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation Martin Tlapa held regular bilateral consultations with his counterpart, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Mr. Luwellyn Landers.

Both partners reviewed bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and South Africa and discussed further enhancement of political and economic cooperation. They mentioned the forthcoming visit of the Minister of International relations to the Czech Republic and agreed on holding a meeting of the Joint Economic Commission in the R.S.A. in 2017.

Both partners also focused their conversation on the enhanced cooperation in the areas of defence and science and technology. In this regard they stated that the Agreement on Scientific cooperation was due to be concluded. Both Deputy Ministers also exchanged views on multilateral issues, EU-South Africa and EU-Africa Partnerships, and cooperation with the International Criminal Court. During the working lunch they discussed the current situation in Europe and in Africa.
