The Czech-Ecuadorian political consultations offered an opportunity to evaluate the state of bilateral relations and to identify possibilities of their future strengthening. Main topic of the visit was deepening of economic relations between both countries.

The delegations also discussed various multilateral issues including the reform of the UN Security Council, level of bioregional integration, human rights situation and current regional issues in Latin America and Europe. Both sides have agreed that their views on key foreign policy issues are very similar and there is an opportunity for closer cooperation in the future.

During his visit in the Czech Republic, Deputy Minister Fernando Yépez Lasso also met with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Eduard Muřický.
