Czech-German Strategic Dialogue on Migration and Integration

Date: 28.11.2016 , Venue: Czernin Palace

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host the Strategic Dialogue on Migration and Integration between Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany On November 28, 2016.

On this occasion, the third meeting of the Working Group on Migration and Integration will be held, where the Czech and German delegations will discuss current situation in this field. They will exchange the experience and insights into this topic and determine the key areas of cooperation.

The aim of the Working Group on Migration and Integration is not only the exchange of experience but also the search of possibilities and synergies in cooperation. The current increased rate of migration flows to Europe represents a big challenge and the attention must be turned especially to quality integration programs. Therefore, the dialogue will focus mainly on the issues related to the arrival of migrants to Germany and the Czech Republic and their successful integration into local society.

At the end of the meeting, both state parties will sign the Memorandum on mutual cooperation in the field of migration and integration. The memorandum should include an agreement to commonly support a specific assistance programme through financial contributions in order to address the causes of the current refugee and migration situation in a third country.
