Deputy Minister Kolaja Briefs the Senior Course of NATO Defense College

Deputy Foreign Minister Václav Kolaja addressed 60 participants of the prestigious Senior Course of the NATO Defense College during their Field Study visit in Prague on December 6, 2016. The event was organized by the Czech Ministry of Defense, with Deputy Minister of Defense Jakub Landovský as another keynote speaker.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kolaja discussed the evolving political-military situation in Europe after the July Warsaw Summit. He recalled that while the security in NATO neighborhoods has deteriorated, the Summit has confirmed NATO´s decisive shift in priorities towards defense and deterrence on the one hand and projection of stability on the other hand.

One of NATO Defense College´s primary missions is to prepare officers and diplomats from NATO member states and partner countries for senior NATO, EU and multinational appointments. In January 2016 Czech Brigadier General (ret.) František Mičánek was elected Dean of the College.
