Vice President of Iran to Visit the Czech Republic

Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek will hold talks with Ali Akbar Salehi, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, who will be visiting the Czech Republic on May 2 – 3, 2016. His visit will take place within the framework of the conclusion of nuclear agreement with Iran (JCPOA – Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), subsequent easing of international sanctions and shared interest in boosting the Czech-Iranian relations.
The Vice President will also meet with Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Mládek and will be received by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka. Further on, he will hold talks with Head of the State Office for Nuclear Safety Dana Drábová.
The meetings will focus on enhancing cooperation in the field of nuclear energy as closer collaboration within this area may contribute to broader international control of Iranian nuclear program and to strengthening of bilateral relations and mutual trust. Current development in the region of Middle East is another major topic to be discussed during the meetings.
