Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek received Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See in on February 10, 2017.
In the Czernin Palace, partners discussed bilateral and current international affairs, such as the ceasefire and humanitarian aid for Syria, situation of Christians in the Near East, migration and its consequences, the rise of extremism in Europe or religious freedom in the world. Minister Zaorálek informed his partner also about the state of preparations for the Chairmanship of the Czech Republic in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. In the field of bilateral relations, the invitation for the Pope Francis to visit the Czech Republic on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the extermination of the village Lidice was mentioned.
