Deputy Minister Dürr Held Talks in Belarus

 

Deputy Minister for European Affairs Jakub Dürr held political consultations with his Belarusian Counterpart and participated in the V4-Eastern Partnership meeting in Minsk on March 15, 2017.

The Czech-Belarus consultations focused mainly on bilateral issues, including economic topics, and on regional issues. The EU-Belarus relations and the upcoming Czech presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe were also on agenda of Deputy Ministers’ meeting. Belarus also informed about its current presidency of the Central European Initiative.

On the same day, Jakub Dürr participated in the Visegrad Group and Eastern Partnership Deputy Foreign Ministers´ meeting, which was hosted by Belarus and co-chaired by Poland. The participants discussed practical cooperation on local and regional levels, transport, connectivity and education. Concerning local authorities and decentralisation, participants welcomed Czech activities in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. The EaP Summit in November 2017 was addressed, too.
