Deputy Minister Dürr Received Secretary-General of the Ibero-America Grynspan

Deputy Minister for European Affairs Jakub Dürr received at Czernin Palace the Secretary-General of the Ibero-America Ms. Rebeca Grynspan who was for the first time visiting Prague on the occasion of awarding the XXII. Iberoamerican Prize.
Both sides supported strengthened cooperation of Ibero-America with the EU – two regions sharing the same values and culture. Secretary-General informed about the ongoing update of the free trade agreements with Mexico and Chile and appreciated progress in negociating the free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur. Regarding the cultural and academic cooperation, both partners discussed a necessity to increase the number of student exchanges.
Ibero-America gathers Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries of the world. Summits of the Heads of States of Ibero-America are held regularly. Ibero-American General Secretariat with its headquarters in Madrid was found in 2005.
