Deputy Minister Smolek Held Talks in China

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Smolek visited China from April 5 to 8, 2017. During this working visit, he discussed the current visa practices between our countries with his partners at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing.

The main goal of the consultations was to deal with the current visa practices and appraise the effectiveness of the valid visa legislation. The talks involved the EU-China Visa-Free Agreement for Holders of Diplomatic Passports and the prepared negotiations on the EU-China Visa Facilitation Agreement.

In view of the permanently increasing interest of Chinese people in traveling to the Czech Republic, 10 Visa Centers in large cities have already been opened in order to significantly facilitate their obtaining the visa. Deputy Minister Smolek met with the representatives of the Visa Centers and discussed real working issues with them.
