The Conference in Honor of Jiří Dienstbier

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Czech Council on Foreign Relations and the Institute of International Relations Prague will hold a conference on May 11, 2017 at 14:00 in the Czernin Palace on the occasion of Jiří Dienstbier’s post-mortem 80th birthday.
The program of the conference is divided into two panels. The main theme of the first panel, entitled Dreaming of Europe, will be dissident foreign policy. The second panel, entitled From Dreaming to Reality, will focus predominantly on post-November 1989 foreign policy.
As part of this event, the new book Jiří Dienstbier ve vzpomínkách (Jiří Dienstbier in Memories) will be presented. It is published by the Czech Council on Foreign Relations on the occasion of the anniversary of Jiří Dienstbier’s 80th birthday. It is a collection of memories connected with Jiří Dienstbier and contains contributions for instance by Milan Kundera, Antonín J. Liehm, Petr Pithart, Adam Michnik or Uffe Ellemann-Jensen.
A glass of wine will follow the official program.
