Deputy Minister Kolaja at GLOBSEC 2017

 

From May 26 to 28, 2017 the 12th annual security conference GLOBSEC took place in Bratislava. GLOBSEC is considered as one of the most important events of its kind in Central Europe. Presidents of Slovakia, Poland, Estonia and Croatia, President of the European Council, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee and many other personalities of political life, media and business were among the main guests of this year’s conference. 

Deputy Minister Václav Kolaja represented the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic at the conference session. At the panel „Visegrad Perspectives on New Europe“ Deputy Minister Kolaja stressed the strategic importance of European integration process for the sustainable development and security of EU member states. Kolaja also called the attention to the need fully utilize EU treaties instruments. During the ensuing visit of the new seat of the International Visegrad Fund, Václav Kolaja highlighted fund’s importance for the cooperation strengthening between V4 states, and for the synergy intensification between non governmental and state sector.

At the diner of V4 Foreign Ministers with Turkish counterpart the following topics were discussed: EU- Turkey Relations, the Situation in Syria and Russian-Ukraine Conflict.
