Deputy Minister Šrámek Will Address the OSCE Permanent Council as a Chair of the CoE’s Committee of Ministers

On June 1, 2017 Deputy Minister Ivo Šrámek will address the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as a Chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. At the Permanent Council’s meeting in Vienna he will present priorities and programme of the Czech Chairmanship to all 57 OSCE participating States. He is also going to meet the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.

While presenting priorities of the Czech Chairmanship to the OSCE partners Deputy Minister Šrámek will talk about the importance of close cooperation between the Council of Europe and other international organizations. During its Chairmanship the Czech Republic is committed to seeking solutions to current security and social challenges by participating in important meetings of partner organizations, sharing of information and coordinating joint responses. On the occasion of his visit to the OSCE Deputy Minister Šrámek will discuss in detail the current issues with the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.

The Czech Republic took over the six-moth Chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers on May 19, 2017. The Chairmanship is a unique opportunity for Czech Republic’s long-term efforts aimed at strengthening human rights, democracy and the rule of law and promoting closely related values.
