Minister Zaorálek to open the meeting of the Board of the Czech-German Future Fund

Date: 13.06.2017 , Venue: Czernin Palace

On Tuesday 13 June, 2017, Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek will open a regular meeting of the Board of the Czech-German Future Fund which will take place in the Czernin Palace. On this occasion, he will greet the participants and express his support to the activities and projects of the Czech-German Future Fund and other platforms of Czech-German relations, including the Czech-German Discussion Forum and the Czech-German Strategic Dialogue. Mr. Bohuslav Sobotka, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, will also deliver his greetings at the meeting.

The Czech-German Future Fund was established as a foundation for the support of Czech-German projects in the spirit of the Czech-German Declaration of 1997. The aim of the Fund is to support projects that bring together people of both countries and allow and deepen insights into their worlds, into common culture and history. Originally planned 10-years activity of the Fund has been prolonged twice, most recently on January 25, 2017, when foreign ministers of both countries in Berlin exchanged personal letters confirming the intention of their governments to continue in the Fund’s activities in the years 2018–2027. In May 2016, the Czech government approved the amount of 270 million CZK as the contribution of the Czech Republic to the Fund’s activities in the next period.
