Batumi Conference “Georgia’s European Way”

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jakub Dürr represented the Czech Republic at the 4th International conference on “Georgia’s European Way” in Batumi on July 13, 2017. On this occasion, he also met the Georgian Foreign Minister Micheil Džanelidze, the Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Viktor Dolidze and the Chairwoman of the Foreign Committee of the Georgian Parliament, Sofia Kacarava.
Deputy Minister joined the panel on the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (AA/DCFTA) between the European Union and Georgia. In his speech, he welcomed the achievements of Georgian European integration so far, notably the launch of visa-free travel between the European Union and Georgia, and the progress in bringing national law closer to EU standards. He further encouraged Georgia on the path of reforms towards democracy-building, the rule of law and good governance.
Talks of Deputy Minister on the edge of the conference with the Georgian Foreign Minister Džanelidze, the Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dolidze and the Chairwoman of the Foreign Committee of the Parliament of Kacarava confirmed the high level of mutual relations and bilateral cooperation and focused on further development of the relations in political, economic, foreign affairs, European Union, cultural and development assistance area.
