Deputy Minister Kaucký in Botswana

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lukáš Kaucký with Deputy Minister of Defence Tomáš Kuchta visited Botswana during August 14-16, 2017. The Deputies were accompanied by a delegation of representatives of Czech companies. The visit focused on cooperation in security and business sector.

The talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi focused mainly on the possibilities for wider economic cooperation and continuation of the current successful cooperation in multilateral fora. In addition to possible cooperation in the defense industry, the visit identified other opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of water management, energy and automotive industry.

The visit was organized as a project to support economic diplomacy in the aviation and defence industry. Part of the program was also a business forum organized by Botswana Investment and Trade Center and the Czech Embassy in Pretoria.

Botswana belongs to successful, stable and democratic countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Economically closely connected with South Africa, Botswana can be considered as a perspective partner of the Czech Republic in the area.
