MFA Statement on the General Elections in Angola

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic welcomes the peaceful conduct of the general elections on August 23, 2017 as well as the high turnout of voters who by casting their vote elected the new political leadership of their country.

The elections mark an important milestone in the history of Angola. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that the electoral process will be completed in a transparent manner and any complaints will be addressed through legal means.

The Czech Republic is ready to further enhance bilateral relations with Angola, an important partner within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
