State Secretary Petr Gajdušek at the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Visegrad Group with their counterparts from the countries of the Eastern Partnership

 

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Petr Gajdušek represented the Czech Republic at the traditional meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Visegrad group with their counterparts from the countries of the Eastern Partnership which took place in the framework of the Hungarian Presidency of the Visegrad in Budapest on August 31, 2017. The meeting was also attended by the Foreign Minister of Estonia and by the EU Commissioner for the EU Neigbourhood Policy and Enlargement Johannes Hahn.

The participants discussed the current state of the Eastern Partnership Policy and coordinated their positions before the Eastern Partnership Summit in November 2017.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Group summarized their position in a joint statement in which they reaffirmed their strong support to the Eastern Partnership as a strategic dimension of the European Neighbourhood Policy and a key and active factor of stability, security and economic progress in Eastern Europe. They urge to keep the Eastern Partnership high on the EU’s political agenda.
