Deputy Minister Tlapa Met with the Ambassador of Egypt

 

On September 11th, 2017, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa met with Abderahman Salaheldin, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Czech Republic. The major agenda points of the meeting were the upcoming ministerial consultations in Cairo to be held on September 26th 2017. Deputy Minister Tlapa also touched upon the consular case of a Czech citizen that passed away last July in Egypt.

Annual consultations between Czech and Egyptian ministries of foreign affairs are a proof of excellent relations between Egypt and the Czech Republic. Besides meeting his counterpart from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Tlapa is supposed to meet also Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Deputy Minister of Military Production, as well as Deputy Minister of Tourism. Discussion with representatives of the Egyptian business community is on the agenda, too.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Tlapa mentioned the case of a Czech citizen that in July died of injuries sustained after she had been attacked in the Egyptian city of Hurghada. In this regard, Deputy Minister Tlapa asked the Egyptian party to provide information it had been asked for, and reminded the appeal to compensate the family of the deceased.
