On October 9, 2017, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Multilateral Issues Ivo Šrámek took part in the Bucharest Nine (B9) ministerial meeting in Warsaw.
The meeting of B9 countries, which is made up of Poland, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Bulgaria, discussed the current security threats and responses. It was an opportunity to talk about the relationship between stated countries, NATO and Russia. B9 states reaffirmed that decisions taken at last year's NATO Summit in Warsaw should be continued, which is to say that we should pursue a two-track policy towards Russia. The meeting also looked at preparations in the run-up to NATO's summit in 2018, which is particularly important given the current situation in the region.
At the meeting the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Bucharest Nine adopted Joint Statement.
