Czech-French Strategic Day

On October 12, 2017, Czech-French Strategic Day in the context of the Strategic Partnership between France and the Czech Republic will take place in Paris.

In the morning session, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivo Šrámek will lead consultations with his French counterpart focusing on political and security issues, especially on European neighbourhood policy and on European defense.

In the afternoon, Deputy Minister Šrámek will preside over the French-Czech Discussion Forum. It will concentrate on issues of strategic autonomy of the EU and resilience in the EU’s neighbourhood. Czech academia will be represented by five experts from Czech think-tanks and universities.

The evening session will be dedicated to public debate on security challenges in Central Europe in the changing European and Transatlantic contexts. The debate will be opened by the Czech ambassador in France, Petr Drulák, and Secretary General of the Military Academy IRSEM, host of the event.
