The Czech Republic Condemns the Destructive WannaCry

The Czech Republic strongly condemns the destructive WannaCry ransomware attack of May 2017, which affected thousands of computers in nearly 100 countries. In this context it expresses deep concern about new findings of the US government presented on December 19, 2017, attributing WannaCry attack to North Korea.
The Czech Republic denounces the abuse of cyber space for any wrongful acts targeting its users, be it nation-states, companies or citizens, impending their freedom of access to information systems and data and the use thereof. The fight against such wrongful acts needs a concerted effort of international community.
The Czech Republic calls on more intensive international cooperation on building an open, secure, accessible and peaceful ICT environment to reduce risk to international peace and security.
