Minister Stropnický Will Address the UN Human Rights Council

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Stropnický will address the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, the main UN human rights forum, on February 27, 2018.

Minister Stropnický will attend the High-level Meeting of the UN HRC, the traditional opening of another year of the key UN human rights body. He is expected to talk about human rights priorities of the Czech foreign policy and take stock of the current state of human rights in the world. Minister is also going to highlight the on-going Czech candidacy to the UN HRC.

During his visit, Minister Stropnický will meet with Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. They will discuss ways to reform the Council, the active role of the European Union and current human rights issues.
