Deputy Minister Dürr Held Consultations in Kiev

Deputy Minister for Europe Jakub Dürr visited Kiev on April 26-27, 2018. He held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasyl Bodnar and met with Deputy Minister of Education and Science Yuri Rashkevych, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov, representatives of NGOs and students of Kyiv School of Economics.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion focused on the political dialogue between the Czech Republic and Ukraine, the Czech development and transition support to Ukraine, trade and economic cooperation and consular or legal issues. Among other issues, there were the EU – Ukraine relations and their prospects under the Association Agreement, NATO-Ukraine cooperation and the situation in Eastern Ukraine.
The second part of the visit covered educational cooperation, reform processes in Ukraine and human rights and humanitarian conditions in Eastern Ukraine. Jakub Dürr held a lecture on the challenges the EU is facing today and honored the memory of the victims of the Holodomor and Ukrainian soldiers who died in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone in Eastern Ukraine.
