State Secretary Stašek and Deputy Minister Smolek Discussed with the Leadership of the “American Friends of the Czech Republic”

MFA State Secretary Miloslav Stašek and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Smolek received on May 3, 2018, in the Czernin Palace a delegation of the US based non-governmental organization “American Friends of the Czech Republic” (AFoCR).
They had an open discussion on the existing cooperation between Czech diplomacy and the AFoCR, as well as a debate on possible future cooperation and projects.
American Friends of the Czech Republic is a US non-governmental and private organization founded in 1995. The goal of AFoCR is to foster closer ties between the United States and the Czech Republic in the areas of business, trade, culture, education, diplomacy, and security. Since its founding, the AFoCR has helped in the US to implement a number of key projects important for the Czech Republic such as a support for the Czech Republic's accession to NATO, the visa waiver program for Czech citizens, the Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk statue in Washington D.C. and many others.
