Deputy Minister Dürr visited Serbia

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe Jakub Dürr paid a working visit to Serbia on May 24-25, 2018. During the visit, Deputy Minister Dürr met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ivica Tončev, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Cooperation Tamara Rastovac-Siamashvili, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the EU Dejan Ralević, State Secretary of the Ministry of European Integration Anja Rović and chief negotiator for Serbia's accession talks with the EU Tanja Miščević. Meetings with distinguished representatives of civil society were also held.

The main issues discussed with Serbian partners were accession negotiations with the EU, the state of reforms with a special focus on the rule of law, media freedom and the fight against corruption, the dialogue on the normalization of relations with Kosovo, relations with neighbors, reconciliation in the region as well as the current situation in the EU.

As part of the program, Deputy Minister Dürr also held an introductory speech at a conference marking the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. He also gave an interview to RFE/RL.
