Minister Hamáček Held Talks with the President of the Republic of India

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Hamáček attended a meeting between Czech and Indian delegations at Prague Castle on Friday, September 7, 2018. The meeting took place on the occasion of the state visit by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to the Czech Republic from September 6 to 9, 2018.
The range of topics covered trade and economic cooperation, defence and security ties, complex UN reform, regional issues, including the situation in the European Union and India's neighbourhood. The possible area of cooperation included the peaceful use of nuclear energy, science, research and innovation.
On behalf of the Czech Republic, Foreign Minister Jan Hamáček signed the Agreement between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of India on Exemption from Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic Passports.
Both sides confirmed the interest in intensifying the high-level visits and regular political consultations between the Foreign Ministries. The Indian President welcomed a new project that would facilitate the processing of applications for issuing the labour cards to highly-qualified workers from India.
