Deputy Minister Tlapa received the new Ambassador of Norway in the Czech Republic

Deputy Minister Martin Tlapa received the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Czech Republic Robert Kvile on October 10, 2018. Both representatives appreciated the very good quality of Czech-Norwegian relations, which need to be further developed, including their economic dimension. The trade turnover between the both countries reached almost 25 billion CZK in 2017.

The conversation also focused on topics of international politics, international development and world trade. The interlocutors pointed out that (besides communication on a multilateral level) the bilateral contacts play an important role as well. The views of the both countries on most of the issues are very close or similar. The Ambassador presented Norway as an active, successful and respected player on the international scene. That is why the Norwegian government decided to put forward Norway's candidature for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for the period of 2021 – 2022. In this connection, the Ambassador asked the Czech Foreign Ministry for support. The Deputy Minister in reply promised that the Norwegian request will be paid due attention.
