Deputy Minister Tlapa met Namibian Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation Martin Tlapa met on 20 November Namibian Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and Small and Medium Enterprises Tjekero Tweya who is visiting the Czech Republic, accompanied by a business delegation. Both countries enjoy traditionally very close relations and strive to strengthen their economic and trade cooperation.

Minister Tweya informed Deputy Minister Tlapa about the progress in the implementation of the Namibian national development plan. Its aim is to improve the investment climate in the country, open state-owned enterprises to private sector and make them more efficient, and to attract private investment to key areas such as transport, water, energy and health. Minister Tweya and Deputy Minister Tlapa agreed that in these areas Namibia can find experienced partners and high-quality technologies in the Czech Republic.

The business delegation accompanying minister Tweya is focused on agriculture, food and agro-processing.
