The Special Session of the Conference at ministerial level is attended by more than 140 delegations of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. The Special Session of the Conference has been convened due to the recent repeated use of chemical weapons in the world.

The delegations of member states are discussing proposals how to improve compliance with the Convention. The OPCW ensures the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.
