Minister Petříček Received the Ambassador of Latvia


Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomáš Petříček received new Ambassador of Latvia Gutna Pastore on January 24, 2019. Both representatives appreciated excellent bilateral Czech-Latvian relations with the potential for further development as well as very good business cooperation.

The meeting confirmed that the Czech Republic and Latvia share a number of common interests, the same or very similar positions to key policies within the EU and NATO and have similar foreign policy priorities. Both partners expressed their interest in closer cooperation within the EU and in other areas such as cyber security. Minister Petříček also expressed his support to Czech companies in their participation in public procurements in Latvia. Ambassador Pastore appreciated the deployment of Czech soldiers in Latvia in the framework of NATO mission “enhanced Forward Presence”. At the end of the meeting,  minister Petříček congratulated to a successful formation of the new Government in Latvia.
