The assessment of bilateral relations of both countries, economic and business cooperation and other future perspectives of cooperation were the main topics of the meeting. The Minister Cynthia Morrison was interested in the Czech experience with gender equality, how we support women and how is the system of gender mainstreaming set. Work-life balance policy within the MFA and the issue of career growth of women were also discussed. The State Secretary Stašek, who is in charge of the agenda of equal opportunities at the MFA, appreciated the interest of the other side: “I am pleased with the initiative of the Republic of Ghana in the agenda of gender equality and I am glad to share our experience”.

The Czech Republic and the Republic of Ghana commemorate the 60^th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations this year. Ghana is one of the most important business partners of the Czech Republic in the Sub-Saharan Africa. The Agreement of Economic Cooperation between both countries is in the final phase of negotiation. The Czech Republic has implemented in Ghana, mainly in the area of various development projects health care, access to drinking water and education. A significant number of Ghanaian students has been studying at various Czech Universities. 　

The visit of the Minister Morrison to the Czech Republic is following the recent business mission of the Czech businesswomen to Ghana in January 2019. Meetings with the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Jana Maláčová, the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch, the Public Defender of Rights Anna Šabatová among others are scheduled during the visit of the Minister.
