On 6 June 2019, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomáš Petříček received at Czernin Palace the Canadian Ambassador, Barbara C. Richardson, to thank her for her personal contribution to the development of our bilateral relations with Canada.
This June, Ambassador Richardson will leave the Czech Republic following a successful three-year tenure during which the dynamics of our mutual relations, both political and economic, increased considerably. During the meeting, Minister Petříček appreciated the Ambassador's successful work in the Czech Republic and discussed with her the plans for further development of the relations.
Canada is an enduringly reliable trans-Atlantic ally and an important partner to the Czech Republic. The two countries share the same values and principles and defend them together in international organisations and in third countries. During the time of non-freedom in our country, Canada became a new home to dozens of thousands of Czechs, and even today it hosts a significant number of Czech professionals – scientists, educators, businessmen and athletes.
