Deputy Minister Povejšil Addressed the Opening Session of the Czech FSC Chairmanship

 

On Wednesday 11 September 2019, the opening session of the Forum for Security Cooperation (FSC) of the OSCE under the Czech Chairmanship took place in Hofburg.
 

The opening address was delivered by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Multilateral Affairs Martin Povejšil, followed by remarks of the Chairman of the FSC Ambassador Ivo Šrámek. In his statement, Deputy Minister Povejšil reminded of the symbolic date of 9/11 and the barbarian attacks that took place on this day, and the international effort in countering terrorism. He continued with stressing the Czech Republic´s belief in sustainable peace, cooperative security and the rules based order, which can only be achieved by fully adhering to international law and the principles and commitments of the OSCE, and the significant role of the OSCE and the FSC. He also touched upon the priority topics of the Czech FSC Chairmanship – the Vienna document implementation and modernisation, regional pol-mil cooperation, the Code of Conduct and UNSCR 1325 and 1540.
