Joint Statement on the Official Visit of Minister Petříček to the Kingdom of Bahrain

His Excellency Tomáš Petříček, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain on Thursday 31 October 2019, accompanied by a high-level delegation of Czech officials and businessmen.
The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, represents the shared desire of the two friendly countries in strengthening cooperation, further developing relations and elevating collaboration across different fields
During the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, he was received by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to being received by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in addition to meetings with His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting between His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Excellency Tomáš Petříček, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the two sides underlined their close bilateral ties, and reaffirmed their shared desire in developing mechanisms of coordination, and exploring strengthening cooperation in the fields of culture, youth and sport, in addition to expanding economic linkages through the Czech trade delegation accompanying His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs that includes the participation of 20 companies, which would encourage investment opportunities between the two countries, particularly in the fields of medical tourism, information and communication technologies and defence.
Both sides condemned extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of the identity of the perpetrators and their motives, whilst reaffirming the importance of combatting the sources of its support and financing, and expressing their joint desire in exchanging experiences in the field of peaceful coexistence and interreligious dialogue.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
