In the field of economic cooperation, Tanzania represents number of opportunities for engagement of Czech companies and their know-how and technologies in many sectors of Tanzanian economy. That could contribute also to the increase of employment and qualification of partner companies in Tanzania. Current interest of Tanzania in expansion of the domestic airports and construction of related air traffic infrastructure could serve as a concrete example. Therefore, the question of bilateral treaties has been discussed as well. Both partners stressed the need for fast-track approach to negotiation of both bilateral agreement on prevention of double taxation and bilateral agreement on the promotion and protection of investments. In return, Tanzanian companies exporting agricultural production could become very attractive partners to Czech food-producing and processing companies.

Tourism represents an important segment in the economy of both countries. Both partners have exchanged information on possibilities how to tackle the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on trans-border movement of people without endangering health and lives of both countries’ population.

Academic cooperation represents another opportunity in mutual relations. Both partners therefore discussed possibilities of cooperation of not only state partners but also promotion of direct contacts between academic institutions of both countries.

Embassy of Tanzania with accreditation for the Czech Republic resides in Berlin. Ambassador Possi is accredited for the Czech Republic since May 7, 2019, when he presented his credentials. Czech Republic does not have a resident Embassy in Tanzania either, both countries are interested in mutual opening of honorary consulates in due time.
