Many participants in the discussion drew attention to the danger of corruption at the current time when relatively large sums are being transferred to help groups negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his introductory statement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomáš Petříček admitted that corruption affects to greater or lesser extent all countries including his own. In addition to governments, he mentioned the important role of civil society and the private sector in the fight against corruption. He also supported possible strengthening of the OSCE anti-corruption tools at the OSCE Ministerial Council scheduled for Tirana later this year.

The need for zero tolerance for corruption was mentioned in the speech of the Albanian Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs GENT Cakaj, who at the Forum represented the current OSCE chairmanship.

On the margin of the Forum, a meeting of the OSCE Group of Friends of the Environment, where the Czech Republic is a founding member, took place to mark namely this year's 30th anniversary of the adoption of the OSCE Paris Charter, which addresses, among other things, the OSCE cooperation in the field of the environment.

Given the current epidemiological situation, the Forum was organized in hybrid mode. In addition to almost one hundred delegates present in Prague, at least the same number of delegates, including some keynote speakers, attended the video conference, and their speeches were interpreted into all six official languages of the OSCE.
