The initiative brings together countries and artificial intelligence experts from a variety of disciplines, including scientists and industry, civil society, international organisations and government. It has set up four working groups focusing on responsible artificial intelligence (including a subgroup on AI and pandemic response), data governance, the future of work, and innovation and commercialisation. All GPAI activities support the responsible development of AI based on the principles of human rights, inclusion, diversity, innovation and economic growth.

Our admission to the platform was initiated and negotiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in close cooperation with the Office of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. We expect that our membership in the GPAI will above all allow us to be systemically involved in international political discussions on the impacts of AI, to participate in the formulation of better AI standards and reduce possible misuse of technology. Starting from January, the Czech Republic will take part in the working groups to which it will send its leading AI experts.
