Minister Jan Lipavský held talks with the Liechtenstein Foreign Minister on Ukraine and the EU Council

Minister Jan Lipavský mainly discussed support for Ukraine with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sports of Liechtenstein, Dominique Hasler. During her visit to Prague on 18 - 19 May 2022. Czech Foreign Minister informed her about the priorities of the forthcoming Czech EU Presidency. As a member of the EEA, Liechtenstein regularly visits countries that take over the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU.
At the beginning, Minister Hasler praised the activities and steps that Czechia had been taking in support of Ukraine and emphasized that Liechtenstein was adopting the same sanctions against Russia as those adopted within the EU. Minister Lipavský emphasized that "we must support Ukraine politically and militarily, and the Russian aggression must be stopped."
Minister Lipavský also presented the plans of the Czech EU Presidency, including the priorities of the working group of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the Council of the European Economic Area (EEA), of which Liechtenstein is a member. Ministers then debated bilateral issues. They especially appreciated the work of the Czech-Liechtenstein Commission of Historians and confirmed the cooperation in the field of education, culture and civil society.
