The Minister also discussed mutual relations, including bilateral trade and economics and NATO cooperation. Bisera Turković reminded that the past year’s trade exchange recorded a 24 percent increase. Russian aggression in Ukraine and Czech support in increasing EU membership did not escape the conversation, along with the question of possibly making Bosnia and Herzegovina an EU candidate country.

“I informed the Minister about continuing Czech foreign developmental aid, where Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the six priority countries and supplying government scholarships for Bosnia-Herzogovinian students,” said Lipavský. The head of Czech diplomacy reassured the Bosnians that support for Bosnia and Herzegovina accession into the EU concurs with the Czech Presidency priority of expanding EU membership in the West Balkans as well.
