It is a highly irresponsible act putting the lives of millions in danger, in blatant breach of all norms of international law and Russia’s membership in the International Atomic Energy Agency. Russia has thus immediately acted against the IAEA Board of Governors‘ resolution adopted yesterday , which demanded Russia to withdraw from the Ukrainian territory in order to allow for ensuring safety and security of Ukrainian civil nuclear facilities. We call upon the UN Security Council as the primary body responsible for safeguarding peace and security to act.
