Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Dvořák received the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia

 

On 19 April 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Dvořák received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Mut´ib al-Rashid. The main goal of the meeting was to hand over a letter from the Saudi Foreign Minister informing about his country's candidacy for the EXPO 2030. During the meeting, the Ambassador also informed about Saudi humanitarian assistance in Ukraine and highly appreciated the Czech Republic's approach to resolving the situation of Ukrainian refugees.

The Ambassador handed over a letter from the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, to Minister Jan Lipavský informing of the Kingdom´s official candidacy to hold the World Exhibition EXPO in 2030.

The Ambassador further informed about the positive developments in Yemen, where the currently agreed ceasefire could eventually lead to the start of serious negotiations to resolve the crisis there.

During the discussion on the consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, the Ambassador informed about the Saudi financial support to related humanitarian efforts of the international community and highly appreciated the approach of the Czech Government and the public to the incoming refugees.
