Statement of the MFA on the Summit in Sharm el-Sheik - Egypt

 

The MFA of the CR believes, that the successfull summit in Sharm el-Sheik is the beginning of a new era of relations between Izrael and Palestine, bringing peace and prosperity to both nations.(10/2/2005)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic welcomes the positive and constructive development of the summit of Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon, President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas, President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak and Abdullah II, King of Jordan.

The MFA of the CR appreciates the statement upon the end of violence between Izrael and Palestine National Authority. It also welcomes the wise decision on mutual coordination in the implementation of the plan concerning the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and from the northern part of the West Bank of Jordan River.

The MFA of the CR hopes, that the success of the summit will prepare the way for the renewal of peace talks between Izrael and Palestine in accordance with the international peace plan for Near East, the so called Road Map.
