Statement of the MFA on the Situation in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech republic is deeply concerned by the current escalation of the situation in the Middle East. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns attacks of Hezbollah against Israel. The Ministry of Foreign affairs appeals for an immediate Hezbollah’s cease-attacks and unconditional release of the kidnapped Israeli soldiers.(14/7/2006)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech republic is deeply concerned by the current escalation of the situation in the Middle East. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns attacks of Hezbollah against Israel. The Ministry of Foreign affairs appeals for an immediate Hezbollah's cease-attacks and unconditional release of the kidnapped Israeli soldiers. The Czech republic fully respects the right of self-defense of Israel. At the same time Israel is appealed by the Czech republic to be regardful to civilian population and infrastructure of Lebanon.
The current crisis affirms an importance of the renewal of complete sovereignty of Lebanon over its territory and disarmament of all militias according to the UN Security Council Resolution 1559.
