MFA statement on the terrorist attack in eastern Algeria

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic would like to express its indignation at the terrorist attack which took place in eastern Algeria on 16 January 2013, and would like to address its sincere condolences and compassion to the families and relatives of the victims and to the hostages.
The Czech Republic strongly condemns this terrorist act and would like to reassure all the concerned countries of its solidarity. The events in region were also discussed at the extraordinary Foreign Affairs Council, where the Czech Republic was represented by the First Deputy Minister Jiří Schneider.
