MFA of the Czech Republic is deeply concerned by the attack against EULEX in Kosovo

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is deeply concerned by the attack which took place in the North of Kosovo on September 19, 2013 against two EULEX vehicles and which resulted in the death of the Lithuanian member of the Mission and a minor injury of his Czech colleague.
MFA of the Czech Republic expresses its deepest condolences to the family of the victim and believes that the perpetrators will be promptly brought to justice.
MFA of the Czech Republic hopes that the November local elections in Kosovo will be conducted without acts of violence and in accordance with local laws and international standards.
This incident, according to the MFA of the Czech Republic, once again confirmed the persisting arguments for preservation of EULEX activities and the importance of KFOR for security in Kosovo.
