We presume that the new parliament and the new government will use the political mandate to introduce and to accelerate much needed reforms in all walks of life of Ukraine.

We believe that the government which ensues from the parliamentary elections will continue in the efforts to find a long term peace solution for southeastern Ukraine.

We deeply regret that the parliamentary elections could not be held on the entire territory of Ukraine due to the existing crisis in the eastern part of the country and the annexation of Crimea. At the same time, we appreciate the effort of the Ukrainian government to enable citizens from those regions to cast their votes as well.

The Czech Republic would like to reiterate its support to the newly elected Ukrainian leadership on its way towards democracy, prosperity and European values. Ukraine has always been an important political and economic partner of the Czech Republic.
