Statement of the MFA on the Iranian nuclear deal

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iran´s Nuclear Programme as well as the agreement signed by Iran and the IAEA on a Road-map for the Clarification of Past and Present Outstanding Issues regarding Iran´s Nuclear Programme. We very much appreciate the hard work of all negotiators (i.e. the High Representative of the EU, foreign ministers of Germany, France, China, Russia, United Kingdom, United States of America and Iran) as the negotiations were difficult and lengthy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly believes that the agreement will, through the full use of IAEA verification mechanisms, ensure the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.

The comprehensive deal reached after more than a decade of negotiations has showed that major international disputes can be resolved through dialogue and international diplomacy.
We hope the agreement will help bring the world in general and Iran’s neighbours in particular more security and stability.
