Statement of the MFA on the Terrorist Attack in Iraq

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic strongly condemns the July 17 suicide terrorist attack which claimed lives of at least 120 people in Khan Bani Saad town. This crime is even more heinous since it was committed against innocent people including women and children during the Eid al-Fitr holiday celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Czech Republic would like to offer its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims and the injured.

The government of the Czech Republic would also like to assure the Iraqi government of its full support in its fight against the terrorists of the so called Islamic State and in its effort to stabilize and reconstruct the country.
