Statement of the MFA on the Developments on Temple Mount in Jerusalem

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is worried by recent developments on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, considered a holy site by three major monotheistic faiths, as well as in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. We reject all acts that are abusing the place that may stir religious intolerance or even lead to clashes.

In this context we once again stress the need to restart a meaningful dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians that may ease tensions and eventually lead to political agreement. As such, we welcome any initiatives to restart the peace negotiations.
